Kandariya Mahadev Temple

This is the most ornate and largest Hindu temple found in Khajuraho. Kandariya Mahadev Temple was constructed by King Vidhyadhara of Chandela dynasty in 1030 BC. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva & embellished with sculptures and ornate carvings.

Chitragupta Temple

This temple was built in the 11th century and is dedicated to the Sun God (Surya). Chitragupta Temple has a stunning five feet high standing idol of Lord Surya driving a chariot, which is operated by seven horses. It is also decorated with carved walls that have carvings depicting historic events. The various kinds of stone carvings symbolize Lord Vishnu in the eleven headed form as well as many erotic couples.

Vishwanath Temple

This temple was built by the Chandella king Dhanga in 1002 BC. Vishwanath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a remarkable marble Shivalinga as the prime deity. It also houses a big idol of Nandi (the Bull – companion and closest aide of Lord Shiva).

Raneh Falls

Raneh Falls is located 20 km away from Khajuraho that forms a thirty meter deep and a five km long canyon, which flows down at the Ken Gharyal Sanctuary. Many tourists visit this waterfall to view the sunset.
